Our Mission

A purpose for LOPFI is to maintain a financially sound retirement system so each covered police officer and firefighter will receive the full value of their earned benefit for their lifetime.  Our goals include providing member education that helps each person learn how valuable the retirement system can be in meeting long term economic goals.   

To continue our forward movement in providing greater value to the members, the system is harnessing more efficient ways of communication.  One of those is the system’s web site.  A wealth of information about LOPFI is easily accessible via this site.  In addition, LOPFI has partnered with Tegrit Technologies in the development of a Member Portal.  The Member Portal offers many details about your record with LOPFI.  Items such as reported pay history, amount of accrued service credit, named beneficiaries, and address information is available for active members.  In addition to these items, active members will have detailed benefit estimates automatically loaded on to their page after logging into the Member Portal.  Retired members can make a few clicks of a mouse and amend tax withholding and/or direct deposit information as it pertains to their LOPFI benefit, as well as a history of benefits paid.  Each feature was designed to make your experience of building a career as a police officer or firefighter more rewarding.  Once you have traveled your career path and decide to enter retirement, LOPFI will be here for you.
